CAW AGM, Elections, Board Nominations & Canons Vote!

CAW's Annual General Membership (AGM) meeting is coming up!

Date:     Saturday, July 11, 2009

              aka Ravenhaven (The home of Oberon and Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart)
              795 Helman Lane, Cotati, CA 94931.

This gathering is for currently-active CAW members ONLY. This year we will be voting on the Board of Directors as well as on the new religious Canons which have been created to replace the problematic “Constitution” drafted by the 2002 Board of Directors.

We wish to stress how enormously important it is that you vote in this election. The 2002 Constitution was forcibly passed by the 2002 Board because we were advised by legal counsel that they were extralegal. As was mentioned in Oberon’s letter to the Waterkin, (http://www.caw.org/docs/Letter to Waterkin RE Canons.pdf) we have proposed replacing that Constitution with these religious Canons because we have concerns that the Constitution was not passed legally or ethically, and further we also feel that it took the Church off-Mission significantly in trying to meet legal standards while disregarding Church traditions and philosophy. But we can only get back on track, legally, ethically and spiritually, with your help! So please, please vote!

Proxy voting will be available online (in a special members only Yahoo! group), via email, via mailed in (snail mail) ballot, or you may vote in person at the meeting. Information went out July 3rd to all members via email (where possible) and via snail mail to members without email addresses or where we received bounces or notification of rejected emails. Welcome to the CAWeb, the Official Website of the Church of All Worlds, Inc.

The Church of All Worlds (CAW) is one of the oldest incorporated Neo-Pagan churches in the United States. Among its members are people of various faiths, including the Abrahamic traditions. We are currently undergoing an "Extreme Makeover", so please excuse the mess. We're in the process of converting the site from a relatively simple web site, to one which is fully interactive, with forums, files areas and automated functions. So please bear with us. We know you'll be excited when it's all complete.

In the meantime, feel free to explore the site. There are a few articles available, and you can visit the Hot Tub, our forums. All guests can read the forums, but you must register to post. Registration is free, and there is no obligation involved. Registering makes you "First Circle", which just means you're part of the circle of folks who are getting to know us.

ABOUT REGISTERING FOR THE SITE

While registration is not necessary, if do you choose to register, please be aware that we use our Magickal Names as our User Names, so that we can recognize each other on the forums. Our system will accept dots and underscores, but will not accept spaces in your user name,and we request that you do not use dashes or special characters. And unless you're magickal name actually contains numbers, please don't include those. If you have a common magickal name, such as Greenman, Phoenix or Cat, you may want to include a last name, so that we can differentiate you from the other Greenmen, Phoenixes and Cats in the CAW tribe.

Our CAW Membership process has been most adversely affected by an avalanche of technical difficulties; hence we have been unable to remind you when your membership was about to lapse, and almost all of your memberships have now lapsed! We have also been unable to accept new memberships.

Growing Closer: Oberon Surgery Updates

Magick: This is a call for Healing Magick!

On Wednesday, August 13th, we were made aware that Oberon Zell, co-Founder, Elder, Primate, and first Priest of CAW, recently underwent a colonoscopy. The result of the initial procedure was not what we had hoped for and expected. The doctors have found a golf-ball sized growth attached to the colon, which has been biopsied. On Thursday, August 14th, OZ had a meeting with his doctor, to discuss the results of the biopsy they did on the golf ball-sized tumor (lesion) they discovered. The Dr. advised them that the tumor is indeed cancerous, and colon cancer is aggressive and nasty. However, it is far enough up that it can be surgically removed along with about a foot of the descending colon (left side). He said that it appears to be less than a year old, so the chances of a complete removal of all cancerous tissue are excellent.

There is concern that some of the cancer cells may have migrated into OZ's lymph nodes, which would be a really serious problem, requiring radiation and chemotherapy. To help determine whether or not this may be the case, they took a few vials of blood for testing, and on Friday, August 15th OZ was scheduled for a CAT scan. The results of the blood work and the CAT scan are due on Thursday, August 21st, when OZ has an appointment with an abdominal surgeon to discuss upcoming surgery—which will be scheduled as soon as possible.

The best things about all this so far are that he caught this early enough that it should be completely operable; and at the same time, they’ll be able to repair an abdominal hernia which has been plaguing OZ for many years (perhaps a tummy-tuck as well).

However, the Dr also emphasized the importance of prayers and healing energy. Right now, to shrink and contain the tumor as much as possible, so that none of the cancer gets out into surrounding tissue or lymph nodes between now and the surgery. After OZ gets the results of the CAT scan and blood work, we'll try and update the site to let you know the status going into surgery. Then he’ll need all the healing energy he can get on the actual day of the surgery to ensure that everything goes perfectly.

OZ has asked that I thank you all for your love and magick! He is feeling our support already.
